We’d all already be using bitcoin if it wasn’t volatile. There is no reason why Fiat can’t be done in a secure way and with low fees. But somehow half the options can be insecure and remain competitive. Standards, group momentum, and network demand can be kind of a bitch to improving the world.
I’d ask them why there’s no sax in your violins shop.

2·6 days agoI had some people tell me that late in the movie. Somehow it ended up on the TMDB listing. That or I ended up in the wrong TMDB listing when I grabbed it.

62·9 days agoWell a lot of the obsession over the exact age of 18 is a modern concept. We think of that as a medieval concept, but nope. You just need to go back to the 70s and 80s.

Movies@lemmy.world•Cyberpunk movie nomination thread. Movie nights are changing theme from space to cyberpunk. But we need to know what movies to put in the poll.English

About that. The CEO he shot was actually in hot water with Blackrock, who were functionally his bosses, for not doing enough to screw over people. Blackrock owns many insurance companies. So that was like 1% progress on solving a problem. Until you get your IRA/401k divested from Blackrock and stop shopping at Blackrock owned companies (good luck), you can shoot all the CEOs you want. Blackrock will still instruct their employee to screw you over.

62·24 days agoNot entirely. But when you live in an ethnically homogeneous society you notice more subtle differences in people.
FYI both sides got exposed. Every political account on Twitter is a spammer. No one would use twitter for enjoyment. Not enough hours a day to have a small audience.

TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name@lemmy.world•How I feel after installing Linux instead of "upgrading" to Windows 11
2·27 days agoAnother thought to consider, but not the first one to consider. If a software behaves differently than another there is a decent chance it is how it is coded and not just how it is configured. If you can’t get a reasonable latency then you get to experience the real power of Linux. Options. Someone has experienced the same thing as you and has coded a real solution. When it comes to the name brands (KDE, GNOME, ect), you will see ironically the broadest range in quality. But if you go on the AUR you will find software that does one job an one job only. The only way that software gets know is if it works and works well.
I’d try these next:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/anyremote
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/unified-remote-serverIntegration with a DE is for Apple people.

Or if you come to the next one (tomorrow) if you watch past the official lineup you can queue it for the after show.
There is a simple solution. Is either kid’s life permanently ruined currently?
Then don’t permanently ruin the life of either kid. Otherwise the bad guy is u.

Political Videos@lemmy.world•You know congress is corrupt to its core, when even Rand Paul objects to a bill eliminating congress pay during shutdowns.
1·1 month agoHave you ever thought about the possibility that old people from different parts of the country might talk different than you? Having a different style of speech doesn’t exclude being a Rhodes scholar. Do you just look down on anyone who has different speech and so you need a way of excusing this internal conflict in your assumptions?

Woah. Even I didn’t realize that. Then we’ll have to revise because we watched the original last week. According to the poll Hackers (1995) is the next favored.
So it will be Colossus and Hackers.
Thank goodness we caught that.
