I would love to see a documentary about this at some point.

I feel like Disney is generally known to fit the “big evil corporation” stereotype, but surely this wasn’t always the case.

When did perception change? What where the first big fuckups?

  • For tv shows and movies:

Older content is rapidly disappearing/getting less accessible. Especially non english content. Shout out to do your part in legally archiving digital media from public libraries.

At the same time new media is pushed build on Existing mega franchises, everything is the same format with the same formula with no higher goal then the profit-margin.

online: is a different story because google owns it. They decide how youtube presents content to users, what do’s and don’ts get punished or get you recommended more.

Again no goal higher then the profit margin,1 ad for a 30 minute video is not as efficient as 1 every so many shorts. And because shorts are more random and your just consuming the flos its harder to tell the ads apart.

Because shorts are optimised on phone, google also rules how 50% of people use their phone it pushes more people to this more exploitative and less ad blockade device.

Good content still exists, its just a lot harder to find because promoting it is less profitable.

Their is a word for this kind of things falling apart to chase profit. Its enshitification.

  • I like to use dashes myself but the combination of overuse with other tells often does make me suspicious.

Which isn’t bad, even an intellectual can write things wrong, as ai can also write things right. Always read critically.

I didn’t think dashes where out of place here, but i did get a real ai vibe of the last paragraph. Is this something Bernie is really considering or is something to round up a generated list of scary scenarios. (Which are all existing valid concerns still)

You forget the part where you spend *1/3 of your day (if not more) performing complex operations mostly for the sake of “number goes up” because that is important to something called “the economy”.

The part you describe is actually the “free time” part of the day.

  • On the one (windows) machine i actively use powershell i click the pinned start menu icon.

Windows has fucked my flow before by co opting my shortcuts. So this is the most reliable way.

On linux terminal is a shortcut, app launcher is a shortcut and searching apps to launch actually works and doesn’t open my browser that operates under a different privacy contract then your os settings.

I despised windows search long before i switched i just didn’t know any better.
