A more positive take: companies act in whatever way maximizes profit. When they do advertising with pride flags etc, that means they expect the population to overall be supportive of LGBT people, as otherwise such ads would hurt sales. So while companies sadly aren’t ideologically behind pride, I’m still happy to see them do these kinds of ads as they are an indicator of decently widespread LGBT support.

When there are fewer LGBT people in the military, then there will also be less resistance from within when the military is used to oppress that very same group. I suspect that might be a reason for the ban. Also I guess there’d be less chance for a coup, but I don’t know how likely that is to begin with.

Just the fact that someone is using Linux at all means they are probably tech savvy, simply for the fact they had to install it in their own. If all prebuilds came with Linux, it would likely be the other way around. (Although why someone would, out of free will, go and install Windows is beyond me)

As far as I understand, the domestic intelligence agency declaring the AfD as rightwing extremist and the party being outlawed are two independent things. It could have been outlawed prior to this decision, and it will not necessarily be outlawed even with the decision. However, the intelligence service now has greater authority to observe and wiretap AfD members.

Of course, the fact that the party is now officially declared as Nazi scum should hopefully embolden the parliament to start the necessary processing to outlaw them.

Gesagt ja, von probiert sehe ich leider wenig. Wenn die aktuell großen Probleme wie exorbitante Wohnkosten, immer teurere bzw schlechtere Renten- und Gesundheitssysteme und Vermögensverteilung zu den oberen 1% mal tatsächlich angegangen werden würden, denke ich das die AfD tatsächlich massiv Stimmen verlieren würde. Leider hat die letzte Regierung da wenig geschafft (danke Chrissi 😘), und die Groko wirds gar nicht erst versuchen.

Ich bin trotzdem voll und ganz für ein Verbot, aber es ist zwingend nötig Politik zu machen die dem Großteil der Bürger zugute kommt, die Partei einfach nur zu verbieten wird das Problem erstmal abschwächen, aber nicht lösen.

Israel has conscription, so if you hire a random Israeli person it’s very likely they served in the IDF, and not necessarily because they wanted to. For all the valid criticism of what Israel is and has been doing, I don’t see how this is an issue.
