tsac@lemmy.worldto Programmer Humor@lemmy.ml•Ah, when we lose focus for a second and then we don't even known what our code was supposed to doEnglish100·2 years agoI like this version more personally.
tsac@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How to find communities in fediverse without getting spammed with offensive porn?English1·2 years agoYeah of course, but with how messed up the filter options are on lemmy right now all sorts of stuff show up. At least with r/all it had to be popular.
tsac@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How to find communities in fediverse without getting spammed with offensive porn?English2·2 years agoI do the same. Back on Reddit I always used r/all, but here that just doesn’t look to be viable at the moment.
tsac@lemmy.worldto wefwef@lemmy.world•just curious, is there a benefit to running your own front end in docker? what is your experience with it containerized? are you running it through nginx?English1·2 years agoI guess I’ll be trying it again then soon.
tsac@lemmy.worldto wefwef@lemmy.world•just curious, is there a benefit to running your own front end in docker? what is your experience with it containerized? are you running it through nginx?English1·2 years agoSweet, glad you got it figured out. How is your experience with Cloudflare Tunnels? I’ve tried to get it setup in the past and only ran into issues so punted on it.
tsac@lemmy.worldto wefwef@lemmy.world•just curious, is there a benefit to running your own front end in docker? what is your experience with it containerized? are you running it through nginx?English2·2 years agoNot on the container side, I just run the vanilla instance. On my phone I run Nova so I can pick whatever icon I want for the installed pwa app, but I’m boring so I didn’t. After reinstalling it a bunch of times trying to debug stuff I gave up changing it.
tsac@lemmy.worldto wefwef@lemmy.world•just curious, is there a benefit to running your own front end in docker? what is your experience with it containerized? are you running it through nginx?English1·2 years agoYeah that is too much work for sure. I’d probably do the same. Last time I updated all I did after the container update is navigate to settings, then check for updates and it pops up immediately. I’ll keep an eye on it for next time to double check.
tsac@lemmy.worldto wefwef@lemmy.world•just curious, is there a benefit to running your own front end in docker? what is your experience with it containerized? are you running it through nginx?English1·2 years agoThat sucks then, not sure why the behavior is different.
edit same versions as myself as well
tsac@lemmy.worldto wefwef@lemmy.world•just curious, is there a benefit to running your own front end in docker? what is your experience with it containerized? are you running it through nginx?English4·2 years agoWhat OS and browser are you using? Firefox Android here, it gets the new version immediately after updating my docker instance. I refresh and the update pops up.
tsac@lemmy.worldto wefwef@lemmy.world•just curious, is there a benefit to running your own front end in docker? what is your experience with it containerized? are you running it through nginx?English3·2 years agoIt was more important when we were being rate limited originally. Now not so much, but I’m largely keeping it until Sync is ready.
tsac@lemmy.worldto wefwef@lemmy.world•wefwef is so good it should be an app and not a web appEnglish8·2 years agoIt is called a progressive web app, or commonly referred to as PWA.

tsac@lemmy.worldto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Best/least expensive GPU for decent Plex transcoding?English1·2 years agoI might just have lower standards here, but most of my content is 1080p at best for movies. Having 2k 4K HDR releases just isn’t viable for most people, now at 1080p it is a bit more palatable. I incorrectly assumed his content composition, so yes my setup isn’t for all scenarios.
tsac@lemmy.worldto General Discussion@lemmy.world•We've grown an absolute shit ton of people the past day, insanely nuts to see how active World is.English0·2 years agoYup. Hopefully it gets resolved soon, I don’t want to resubscribe to everything from another instance.
tsac@lemmy.worldto General Discussion@lemmy.world•We've grown an absolute shit ton of people the past day, insanely nuts to see how active World is.English0·2 years agoYeah same. When the network errors level out it will be better as well. For example anytime I comment I see an error but it actually posts.

tsac@lemmy.worldto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Best/least expensive GPU for decent Plex transcoding?English2·2 years agoI’ve used as little as a virtual machine running on my gaming computer to a full blown dedicated server. Really for transcoding as long as it has some cpu cores you can have a good dedicated older machine running plex fine. You don’t need a gpu at all for a handful of streams. I think my max concurrent was 5 ever and I only upgraded for maintainability purposes.
Update revanced, it works now
