thefloatingpoint@feddit.deto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is anybody else more active here then they were on Reddit?English2·2 years agoWeird. I immediately deleted my comment after posting it. Two hours later, you still could answer it (and probably still can see it).
As an actual answer: I’m happy you had a good day!
thefloatingpoint@feddit.deto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How to handle multiple magazines on the same subject but on different instances?English9·2 years agoI have a habit of sorting things out frequently. Spotify Playlists, YouTube Subscriptions, Subreddits. Every now and then I go through them all and throw things out the window I’m not interested in anymore.
So, when I signed up here I subscribed to anything that sounded promising. Some of these communities are exactly the same just on different instances.
Eventually one of them will be victorious and that’s gonna be the one I will continue to follow.
It’s pretty handy because I rather subscribe to stuff which I am not that interested in. Sometimes it prevails and I find something new to obsess over.
thefloatingpoint@feddit.deto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is anybody else more active here then they were on Reddit?English1·2 years agoAlright! How was your day? What did you do?
That’s 5% too much.
Alright! I’ll bring the Cider and Bratwurst.
thefloatingpoint@feddit.deto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is anyone else enjoying the slower pace of content?English16·2 years agoYes, kinda, sorta. It’s like an addict going cold turkey. I feel the urge for a faster paced feed from time to time. It’s unsettling how much I’ve been accustomed to this kind of BS.

But…who the fuck trusted anyone on Reddit? Or on the internet in general?!
thefloatingpoint@feddit.deto Lemmy.World Announcements@lemmy.world•*Permanently Deleted*English37·2 years agoDon’t be mad. Be happy they decided to stay and lick the boot. Do you want to have them here? Poison this site too?
I mean, I tend to become incredibly toxic the moment I feel grumpy. Having mostly decent users around me helps keeping my bs in check. Fuck them. We can built something way more beautiful.
Once I understand how the fuck this site works.
thefloatingpoint@feddit.deto Lemmy.World Announcements@lemmy.world•The blackout is starting to have a financial impact on Reddit, but we must stay dark!English5·2 years agoI can only talk for myself. Since yesterday I lurk on Reddit but don’t really engage with it anymore other than that.
As soon as Apollo is gone, even that will go away. I don’t know if I will stay on Lemmy, only time will tell even tho I hope so. But my active days on Reddit are ending right now.
thefloatingpoint@feddit.deto Lemmy.World Announcements@lemmy.world•Thinking of starting a new communityEnglish4·2 years agoLooking at what has been left behind at Reddit, people like you leaving the site can be considered braindrain.
Welcome to Lemmy. I still have no fucking clue what I am doing.

thefloatingpoint@feddit.deto Lemmy.World Announcements@lemmy.world•Here it comes - Reddit admins taking over subsEnglish47·2 years agoI just returned for a couple of minutes and it’s a fucking shitshow. I don’t know if it has become worse or if it just feels like that because Lemmy is much more friendly, but Reddit seems to be much more toxic right now.
It is also so obvious that people are trying to use this as some kind of coup. Users interact with the thematic, get explained what the blackout is about, just to comment complete bs about it one comment later. They are acting dumb to gain momentum.
I really hope this will end up in a worldpolitics situation.
thefloatingpoint@feddit.deto Technology@beehaw.org•Megathread for Reddit Blackouts and News - Day 2English5·2 years agoYeah, I had that moment yesterday. Sat on the toilet and immediately opened Apollo. Closed it a second later. Won’t happen anymore after Apollo is gone, tho.
Hello fellow Lemmings! It is I, thefloatingpoint from the future. I have traveled back in time to tell you the tales from Reddit.
The tools came 3 month after this announcement.
They didn’t work at all.
As of 2025 they still don’t.
Also Spez died in self strangulation while masturbating to a picture of Elon Musk. Who in turn died in a ball of fire after his latest patch for Twitter went online.
Goodbye Lemmings.
