I really hope providers tell the governments/companies to fuck off… Here in Spain, they started IP blocking Cloudflare IPs because of legal demands by a football association (LaLiga), to prevent people from watching matches via IPTV… And blocking a lot of legal sites in the process.

I didn’t even notice until I tried to use Heroic Games Launcher last weekend and I couldn’t authenticate into EGS… turns out they block legendary.gl, so fuck me for trying to play Satisfactory. I couldn’t make it work offline with Heroic, and by the time I added it to Steam with its custom proton profile, moved the save files and started playing, I already had to go. Way to waste my evening.

But hey! My server running a stack of arrs keeps working fine, and you can just use a VPN if you want to watch your football, so pirates are the least inconvenienced users :)))

A hacky solution, but you can try to chmod the file into read-only? That way jellyfin shouldn’t be able to mess with it.

Unfortunately that doesn’t seem possible, afaik. Although you could always create a zip file with a password, and share it with an open link (anyone with the link can download it, no need for account).

Maybe something like xbackbone? I’ve used it to share small-ish files and it works fine; I don’t know how much of a pain it would be to use for a group of people, but as long as everyone has an account they should be able to access files with a link.

Have you ever talked to kids? Do you think just explaining it will make them voluntarily not use their phones during class? I’m not opposed to talking to them about it, in fact I do think it’s good and necessary. But you can’t assume they are just going to stop using them.

What parents and teachers should do is give kids alternatives on their free time, like toys, books, and making them socialize, so that they learn there is more to life than screens. But in class they should be learning, and I’m sure any teacher nowadays can tell you how bad phones are for kids’ attention.

btop is nice and I use it sometimes; but htop, my beloved, doesn’t complain about the screen size being too small. And it’s more visual for me anyways.
