Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL Iran Has No Water Left, 28 Million People WITHOUT WaterEnglish
7·7 days agoAlso related is the Water conflict in the Middle East and North Africa caused by dams, although Iran seems to not be reliant on waterflows from elsewhere. Maybe low rainfall and bad distribution of resources

1·10 days agoAll forums can be used to influence general opinion. If there were more users here I’m sure there would be more pressure trying to get past the current safeguards. What do you think about the bot situation here?

2·10 days agoTrue, I think as long as the comments are not from bots it’s looking fine. And I haven’t noticed anything like that here.

7·10 days agoComments have been rising but users decreasing, could this be that people have settled to one account or that bots have made more comments?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•I get a lot of ideas in the shower. Do any of you use any kind of waterproof note taking pad and pen so you can catch those ideas before they vanish in the steam?
1·18 days agoMaybe also the generic you? Sometimes it feels a bit imperative like in this occasion.
IIRC whatsapp’s automatic backups are stored in cloud and unencrypted by default. So it takes only one person in the group chat who has backups enabled (pop up reminds periodically if not) and no password is set (not required, takes effort and will to set) to leak everyone’s messages.
It is funny indeed, but after a while I felt exhausted after reading the same repetitive threads over and over

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some common things people buy that you would never buy?
3·20 days agoI’ve had glasses for a long time and interestingly they clean better with hand soap. Many have suggested to use dish soap but it seems to be less effective. I’d imagine most of the stains come from being in contact with skin so I’m a bit surprised.

She didn’t grow them just for this occasion
