So you’re saying our government is lying to us about its motives and meetings?

So you’re saying our government is lying to us about its motives and meetings?
This was a closed-door cabinet meeting, what kind of transparency is that?
I mean, if you did simply misremember, I can tell you I’ve definitely done that before!
Whether or not Carney invited Thiel, though, the two of them are definitely not strangers. The two are among a small number of Bilderberg participants who attended every single year over the last decade or so, for starters. (Except for 2020 & 2021 when the meetings were cancelled due to the pandemic)
Then there’s the president of Palantir Canada, David MacNaughton, who sits on the PM’s Council for Canada-US Relations. Wow, small world, right?
If Carney really did invite Thiel, the shocking bit is mostly that they’d be so open about how connected they are tbh!
As if you were “engaging” yourself, spare me the high horse bs
Maybe they shouldn’t have the meeting at all? Ever consider that Roberts might learn more about what Carney & cabinet are thinking, than our government would learn from him?
It’s all just a joke, right? Inviting the fascists into your cabinet meeting is really funny, hahaha /s
If he lasts that long. This govt could honestly get their fall budget voted down - and if it has the cuts to the civil service that Carney is promising, you have to wonder if he would even hold onto his Ottawa seat.
Hmm, this is a fascinating and nuanced part of the political spectrum you’re representing, lemme just look up when the nominations for the Order of Canada are happening, and I’ll pass your name along to the PMO 👍
This sounds like it involves rope, or handcuffs maybe
The article addresses, and counters, this argument pretty well tbh.
Besides, what has Carney actually done to make people think he’s not this dude’s friend?
Where did I say that you said that?
Yeah I’d definitely wondered who the AI-focused VC firm was when I read that article yesterday, but I still haven’t seen a name anywhere.
I mean no matter who it is, it’s still ludicrous that they’re inviting a VC firm doing AI gambles and not, say, union leaders or civil society groups.
Brookfield, incidentally, has tens of billions invested in AI stuff and recently extended a $750 million line of credit to a Thiel-backed AI data center company: https://blundervalley.ca/blog/crusoe-thiel-brookfield/
He fucking WHAT
sorry to do this but do you have a source on that?
Yeah telltale sign of the Blue MAGA folks who somehow thing Russia is still communist or something lol
Even a top Trudeau advisor is openly telling the press that it’s “mind-boggling” he was invited. At least 2 MPs and a Liberal party staffer are also speaking out. It’s indefensible, and I have to seriously question the motives and principles of anyone trying to defend it.

“We should defer to our leaders if they want to appease fascists”
Is this really what you wanna go with?
It’s funny you seem to think I’m a conservative
Didn’t this dude write a long-ass book where his whole thing was like, we need firm and predictable government policy so that markets can do their supposed magic?
Looks like even that utterly weaksauce approach to the climate crisis is entirely negotiable, if short-term profits for his Brookfield buddies are ever even slightly at risk.
This guy is pathetic. An invertebrate. Disappointment doesn’t even scratch the surface.
by what metric is nuclear the “most efficient” or “most powerful” energy source?
