Technology@lemmy.world•I hate how everything requires you to download a shitty proprietary data harvesting app nowadays when everything can be done just fine without an app.English
4·2 years agoHey that’s interesting. I haven’t used Firefox on iphone for a while because I didn’t think it was possible to add a blocker. Is that now possible? If so, which one do you use?

3·2 years agoAlthough one has to ask… When is the last time you ran your fingernail along your jeans and left a permanent indentation?
Ah. I didn’t know that, thanks!
Damn! Sometimes patience is necessary for these things
That’s great info thanks. Do you have the sim running on both phones while your making sure it runs ok?
Username and passwords should be stored with your Apple ID, right? At least I think so.
Yeah, that’s fair enough what you are saying. Although my icloud package is tinyyyyy haha. Thanks!
Great, thanks! Nice to see I wasn’t the only one thinking of doing this.
Thanks. Yeah, biggest ones for sure will be Authy app, banking and Whatsapp for me.

59·2 years agoYou reminded me of when I started having keyboard problems with my 2017 MBP. Went to local Apple Store and assistant asked why I hadn’t yet tried using compressed air between the keys. Because obviously (/s) that has always been necessary after using a keyboard for only three months.
“Putting it in your pocket wrong” is so going to be on their response script on this one!

10·2 years agoI haven’t looked too deeply into the financing (recent migrant from Reddit). But would like to find out more.
Is Lemmy / Fediverse run like the Wikimedia Foundation?
Is current financing supporting the paid work and growth of servers etc?
What is considered a fair regular donation? Should I donate to Iemmy.org and the instance I have joined - lemmy.world? I would be happy to know what others here are contributing.
Thanks!

Good request. I would also like to know, especially for geopolitics / Ukraine / Middle East. A lot of the people I follow (followed) on xitter haven’t moved over yet.
