dxcz@beehaw.orgto Technology@beehaw.org•We must end the tyranny of printers in American lifeEnglish2·2 years agoCan confirm that bootleg printer ink is a thing. It used to be all I used. While sites dedicated to it off Amazon doesn’t cut it.
But as someone else pointed out, manufacturers have been adding “DRM” to cartridges in more recent years. Even in older printers, I will get complaints doubting the authenticity of the cartridges I was putting in.

dxcz@beehaw.orgto DevOps@programming.dev•What's the biggest docker footgun you've experienced?English0·2 years agoInteresting — coming from the Linux world where docker is an ‘apt install’ away, I struggled with docker installation on Mac and settled on their client because of various “gotchas” I saw online. And even then got pissed because the client overwrote my local ‘kubectl’ bin.
Guess I’ll have to reevaluate.
Yeah, I’ve always thought it could be a good retort when someone is dissatisfied with the amount of resources you’ve already put towards some thing.
“Wow, thanks for getting me only 20 bucks in my birthday card”
“you’re only volunteering for a day? They are volunteering for at least three”
“Gross, you’re got me a used laptop?”

I hadn’t considered this, but this would be awesome.
Having it go 2 ways and draft new articles (thinking TODO pages) based on Slack mentions would be interesting too, I think?
