Hobbies are important to mental health.

I’m honestly to the point where I wouldn’t doubt that anything I see on online is computer generated content. If they can’t make it indiscernible now, it’s only a matter of time. They aren’t going public with half of it.

No, nor do I have money to invest. I recommend getting what’s free and open source and running it on your own machine to suit your needs, even if it’s nothing more than your own amusement. Running it on your own machine cuts the strings to those that prefer to guide you.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t like it. It’s here, it’s not going anywhere, and it’s only a matter of time before it’s hiding its AI features and indistinguishable from anything not AI. As long as people are profiting off of us being addicted to the screens, AI will not be stopped as there has never been an easier way to keep people staring at the screens. It’s like printing money or making meth. It sells, despite any attempt to prevent profits. Businesses that utilize it will have an edge over those that don’t. Now is the time to invest. Get what you can off github, now. Our value goes down as jobs are lost to them. Don’t complain if you refuse to choose to adapt.
Wow! Thank’s.
Would be nice if they’d cited the videos they speak of, specifically. I’m not aware of them.

diptchip@lemmy.worldto Mental Health@lemmy.world•How do i move on from thoughts that i never had and never going to have relationships?English2·11 days agoI was 28 before I done goofed and fell in love. Had lived alone a year or so after getting out of the army. Had been single and was losing hope, like you. Was so lonely I moved in with my sister and her boyfriend. They had a spare room and I figured I could help 'em with rent. Honestly figured I’d hook up with one of her friends, which was exactly what happened. You’re still young. There’s so much pain with love, it’s hard to recommend. People are trying to replace people with pets and the screens, but I don’t think it’s healthy. Hobbies are the answer. Every moment counts.
Wait! NO! Please don’t! Yeah IDC, man.

I disagree. Human beings are social creatures. Happiness primarily comes from healthy interpersonal relationships, not marriage/prison. In isolation, only the insane are happy. You can downvote and try to replace all human interaction with the screens, hate, and pets, but I can see right through your BS because I’ve been there. Tell me sex isn’t important. Maybe you’re content and you keep yourself distracted by being a workaholic and BSing with the people that are paid to be around you, but that facade and those relationships end the day your employment does. The sad truth is that before the screens, people entertained each other. Now we’re addicted to the screens. Everyone seems to think happiness is on the other side of one. People are convincing themselves that they don’t even need other people… Just need their next fix of screen time. The people on the screens have got us afraid of each other while the crime rate is at an all time low. Got us more likely to fight our neighbors than the people that are robbing us. And taters suck, nutritionally speaking, but I’m content with 'em as long as it’s 25% cheese.

Not to be used to train AI. We promise.
