What state? Nothing shows up in a quick search. That could be considered ‘brandishing’ in my state which is a crime but certainly not assault.

confusedbytheBasics@lemm.eeto World News@lemmy.world•World won’t forget Tiananmen Square, US and Taiwan say on 36th anniversary of massacreEnglish1·7 days agoYou’re asking how two of the same thing are similar? Very strange. They share the same definition. They are similar in the ways that things with that label are similar.
Genocide: the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group.
All of that is similar.
Same brother. I was once a Gentoo using anarchist but now I spend more time getting stuff done and less time tweaking my setup.
As I get closer to 50 years old I begin to understand this. I still choose to go out most days but I start to see the appeal of just… Not.
Yep your rarely used vacation house needs an extra step given how rarely it’s used.
Passwords are a miserable and lazy solution. The point was; they are cheap and easy to implement. I highly recommend dropping them whenever possible and switching to Passkeys, oAuth, SAML anything even a tiny bit harder to compromise.
More like using a key that hasn’t been used in I over 30 days and needing to wait on a text/email.
Also text or email is a bad second factor and an implementation problem. TOTP is better. Passkeys way better and are so simple once you start using them.
I enjoy a buttery coffee on a blue moon. Not for health reasons. I just like it. What’s the arthritis risk though?
Edit: Google told me apparently some people’s arthritis is worsened by saturated fat. TDIL

No able bodied person deserves servants to both cook for them and deliver hot food to them from across town. That is an incredible privilege that should be reserved for those truly in need or as an expense luxury.
Little known fact the brain is in fact part of the body.
Go live your life. Make some mistakes worth talking about then come back.
Still working on it. Turns out all the stuff I was so scared to do with my life wasn’t so dangerous after all.
confusedbytheBasics@lemm.eeto linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Who needs stable, feature-rich desktops anyway1·1 month agoThe Fedora Workstation KDE spin and Manjaro as well as Endeavor all feel cluttered and janky IMO. Glad you like it though.
confusedbytheBasics@lemm.eeto linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Who needs stable, feature-rich desktops anyway1·1 month agoThanks I will try it
I use something from each tier except the As Seen on TV tier.
confusedbytheBasics@lemm.eeto linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Who needs stable, feature-rich desktops anyway92·1 month agoI install Fedora Workstation and change nothing. I’m pretty happy with GNOME in that case. KDE has been too fiddley for me the last few times I tried it. It’s there a distro that has a default KDE setup that feels minimal and out of the way?
A kebob is made from a grown creature with more capacity for suffering than a recently conceived fetus. So if you’re willing to waste a kebab, I don’t see the problem with a voluntary abortion.
confusedbytheBasics@lemm.eeto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•That's all folks, Plex is starting to charge for sharingEnglish1·1 month agoIt can but bitrate is limited without direct connect. It’s an awful way to configure Plex.
confusedbytheBasics@lemm.eeto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•That's all folks, Plex is starting to charge for sharingEnglish2·1 month agoThe relay feature is terrible though. It ruins video quality for any stream over 1mbps unless you pay and then it still ruins any stream over 2mbps. Any good plex server will have direct connect enabled just like jellyfin.
What’s the security risk you worry about having a plex media server or jellyfin server listening on the Internet?

I avoid his stuff but will sometimes try to find out what he’s talking about from a better source.
Happening in different times, to different groups, in a different region… there are millions of differences down to being named Siwar Jamassi instead of Anne Frank.
