bus_factor@lemmy.worldtoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•Wait. This is a thing that happened?!
25·23 hours agoA lot of right-wingers like it because it sounds angry and they don’t listen to the lyrics. I’ve seen right-wingers literally believe that Rage Against The Machine is raging against the Biden administration.
I was on a date with an Asian woman years ago, and she decided to order Chicken Fried Rice. I don’t remember what I ordered, but it was something less stereotypically “white”.
They gave me the fried rice, and a fork. We just laughed, traded dishes, and asked for another pair of chopsticks.

Political Weirdos @lemmy.world•They always play victim afterwards
2·24 hours agoIsn’t it pretty normal to get parole halfway through the sentence for state crimes?

14·1 day agoI would also argue that he should be allowed a breather after being shot twice and securing the gun. He did all that and you want more?

10·1 day agoHe does care. In this case he’s thrilled that he got killed, because in his mind he deserves the death penalty for criticising the almighty Trump.

2·2 days agoI’m assuming Catchy is some kind of Linux? In that case you can probably hit Ctrl-Alt-Shift-F1 to get a console. Then after killing the game, use the same combo with a different F key (probably F7 or F8) to get back to the graphical interface.

2·3 days agoIt couldn’t even see the spreadsheet.
COPILOT()can’t see the spreadsheet, only the range you provide in the second parameter. None was provided.

31·3 days agoIt was thinking that 15 is the most common answer on the Internet to the request “sum the numbers above”.
The
COPILOT()feature does not have access to your spreadsheet. You pass it the cell range it is supposed to use for context in the optional second parameter. The user did not provide any second parameter, so they’re just asking it to generate some text based on the text of the prompt and nothing else. The person who made this tweet either didn’t bother reading how to use the feature, or is being disingenuous.

3·3 days agoI think it’s trying to say that you could feasibly use solar-generated power at night and when it’s not sunny now, because it has become financially viable to buffer it in a huge battery.
With the Lingua::Perligata module you can write your perl in Latin instead. My coworker says it’s more readable that way if you know Latin.
There was a guy who got approached by a flight attendant for doing calculus on a plane. Some other passenger had reported him for doing something in Arabic, which we all know could hijack and take down the plane!

Opensource@programming.dev•FFmpeg to Google: Fund Us or Stop Sending Bugs
2·3 days agoService Level Agreement. It’s when you have a contract requiring a certain level of service, like minimum 99.999% uptime or (in my example) a maximum 30 second response time on support requests.
This is something you typically get from an enterprise vendor (although 30 seconds is exaggerated) in return for paying them a lot of money. It’s not something you can expect for free from volunteers.

Steam@programming.dev•Over 19,000 games have released on Steam in 2025, with nearly half seeing fewer than 10 reviews
5·4 days agoYeah, I think the more accurate take is that it’s way easier to get a game published now. These days they die on Steam. 20 years ago they’d die before making it that far.

A Boring Dystopia@lemmy.world•A new ‘solution’ to student homelessness: a parking lot where students can sleep safely in their cars
5·5 days agoA friend of mine used to live in his car, and he told me the worst part was getting chased away all the time. This would remove some stress from a very stressful situation.
I guess it could be, if you’re experimenting with it recreationally, and your dealer is selling both? That path is easily avoided by just legalizing weed, though.
If you’re looking for drugs because your doctor prescribed buckets of oxy for your back pain, only to then pull the rug and expect you to quit cold turkey, you’re going straight to opiates.
Don’t they get re-creased when you fold them up, though?

I never heard of that, and I doubt it happened. Apple won’t touch anything with a GPL license.
