The movie has a couple good bits, it’s only real crime is being a little boring. It’s definitely overblown in it’s legend of being bad, Biodome for instance made me viscerally angry in a way this movie never could.

9·3 days agoAny regulator specifically exists to counter these forces, so any regulatory capture is the most devastating to society as it opens entire industries to corruption. For some reason capitalists think foxes know the most about chickens, so surely they should be in charge of the henhouse.
Libertarianism is a lie for people that want a high trust society without putting in any of the effort and cooperation that it requires. For people who expect things to naturally work while still saying “fuck you got mine”.

4·4 days agoFind something you love to make your goal in life. Only finding motivation in stressors to escape rather than something to move towards will burn you out and drive you to the depths of depression, even if you’re successful at it.

3·9 days agoMetric and The Tea Party are both pretty good for alt rock, although I’m bored to death of the one or two songs each get on the radio.
I can tell you as someone born and raised here, oil money has led this place to become a mecca for every dumb asshole across Canada to forgo further education and try to get rich quick. The majority will crash and burn and the rest will retire in Kelowna.

I get the feeling the man from Paraguay will get her out of it, and season 2 will follow a Locutus of Borg recovery type of storyline.
