Exactly my thought. The bike itself is the protection.
With a bike like that you can lock it in the most outrageous ways just to spite other people.

I manage to sort out what you did there. Good move. You properly locked it.

I wish to be happy. My neighbor is now twice as happy. And I’m twice as happy too, as I’m also happy for him.
Game over.

The real response is veiled behind the usual corporate lingo. Here’s what’s actually being said:
You’re right. The system is buggy and the IT guys still haven’t fixed it. The easiest way around it is to create a disposable address at one of the major email providers. It sucks, but that works. Good luck.
In a way, the response was kinda humane.

Plot twist: they’re explorers collecting anthropological artifacts to their museum back home.

Propaganda.

Yeah. As if hacking into someone’s mind is their right. Talk about entitlement…
Same.
I’m solely usually keyboard, activating the windows I’m constantly using through shortcuts. Not having them is a big no no.
I also need to record live streams on OBS, and last time I tried the target windows couldn’t be detected.
Also, I rely on many small X programs thenhanc little things that, together, are all part of my workflow. Most of them are not available on Wayland, and those that are are crippled due to Wayland’s limitations.
Ultimately, these discussions are pointless. Some Waylanders don’t understand there’s more to computer use than just running the latest hardware/software. Ideally, both protocols would coexist, allowing a broader range of choice. But X11ers in return being offensive to Waylanders is not admissable.
I made peace with this forced transition. I went from using one of the available standards (X11) to retrocomputing (X11).
I tried Wayland and what a mess… But I get it. Everything changes, and tech moves on.
As for me and my needs, as long as X11 does its job, I’ll keep on using it.
I’ve followed some of the discussions around the need to have a more modern framework for current graphical systems. I’m pretty confident devs have their hearts and minds in the right place. It’s just that Wayland doesn’t work for me.

By now, predicting the end of reddit is akin to putting a date to the end of the world.
And who cares? This is not a competition, these are not teams, and there’s more internet than some famous url.
Beethoven shirt. “Name five songs”, “sure, allegro, allegro vivace, scherzo, adagio, andante cantabile.”
Definitely!
While I was living in Brazil, and exclusively using bicycle for my transportation, I adopted that attitude.
I bought a second hand worker’s bicycle, and stealthily upgraded the components. For that I uglified the whole thing. At first glance, a shitty bicycle. But when using it, you knew this was no ordinary bike.
When I left Brazil after 10 years later, the bicycle was still with me, unharmed. 2 days before my departure, I proudly gave it to a friend.
