  • If we had capable leadership, I’d absolutely agree with you. Evidence is telling me that’s just not happening, and not going to happen any time soon, though. Instead, it’s far more likely any data they do get will be “anonymised”, bundled up and sold off to a company the person making the decision has a large stake in, if not by this government than by the next.

No idea why would would be downvoted without a comment, though. It might be wishful thinking, but your commentary is legitimate.

  • They have no idea who I did or didn’t vote for when I complain about them, so it’s completely possible to both complain as well as not vote for anyone at all. A spoiled ballot indicates that you intend to vote, but that nobody running for election is suitable, which is exactly how I feel. Spoiled ballots need to be read by multiple people, generally including the candidates, in case they feel my paper indicates a vote for them. My spoiled ballots have been seen and sent a message to more people than an x in a random box ever will. So yes, I do think it’s a clever move to spoil a ballot as opposed to being a good little voter and putting my x in the box like the other ~99.7% of voters. If more people did the same, that would say more than voting for a specific person ever will.

  • You speak as if these shithead politicians actually care about us and what we have to say. Sorry, but that’s utterly delusional, and one look at what’s going on in this country makes that very clear. Voting clearly doesn’t do anything, otherwise things would actually be changing now that someone else was voted in. So you can chalk it up to me being some edgy little rebel with a chip on my shoulder if you like, but I will continue to spoil ballots and talk shit to pricks in power until we actually get some real change or I’m dead, and I know exactly what one of those will happen first.

    And it’s “you’re” not “your”.

  • When there’s nobody worth voting for, I refuse to play their game. I’m a proud ballot spoiler. Some will say I threw away my democratic right, but when my right is worth as much as pissing in an ocean of piss, it’s not worth having. I’m sure plenty of people here feel some sort of victory for placing Cameron-Hiding-Behind-A-Red-Rosette into number 10 because “at least it’s not the other one”, and I likewise have the same feeling about leaving a message of dissent that a couple people will be forced to read.

  • We’re constantly told that the country is broke, taxes will need to go up, old ladies will need to freeze, the disabled don’t deserve what few benefits they get… but we’ve got 1.8B to spend on a scheme that will eventually balloon to 4B+ so that hackers and fraudsters can get access to every piece of information about everyone all in one place, just so we can be spied on even more than we already are.

    Fuck Reeves.

    Fuck Starmer.

Fuck Labour, and anyone that voted for those cunts.

  • My Necro main is in full VoE mode right now, so I’m using Eternal Alchemist as a Male Asura Ritualist, while dressed in the Ritualist outfit.

Before that, I used “Master of the Rifts” since it’s apparently the rarest title I have, despite being relatively easy to get (just time consuming).

I use Kingslayer on one of my alts since I enjoyed the challenge of getting it as a glass-cannon DPS without exploiting or cheesing it.

Dark Traveller on another character since it’s a reasonably cool title.

  • I think it’s important to still give a critical eye towards the use of AI, but at this point I think it’s clear that not only is the use of AI going to stop (even once the bubble bursts), but also that the top-end models are just becoming more and more capable every month.

A couple years ago I was giving GPT-3 complex prompts and laughing at how bad and error-prone the output was, but last week I was using GPT-5 to give me information in a field I have little knowledge of, and it’s giving me perfect answers in seconds that takes me 20+ minutes to verify as correct, and that’s tens of times faster than actually learning the field myself. Even if I were to take a year to learn it all myself, I’d then need to not only retain all of that information, but also keep up-to-date on advancements in that field, which an AI will just do over time. This way I can concentrate on the fields of work I already know and follow, but can dabble in other fields without expensive retraining or bugging others in those fields with basic questions.
