Thank you for letting me vent :-)

The final book is about 2" thick and contains depictions of torture … what age do you think that was meant to be read by?
And it’s that last book that cements that the only problem with the magical society is that someone bad got to be in charge … Harry gets to be a wizard cop who will send people to a prizon of horrible torture, all the slaves are happy being slaves, the banks are run by greedy little monsters with big noses, and that’s how it’s supposed to be.
Books presented to young readers can help them to form lasting impressions of how they see the world if, like most people, they don’t think to question it. My Mum thought Enid Blyghton books were just wonderful, for example.
Indeed, he filed complaints for abusive behaviour against me, my boss (also a woman) and the only POC on the team, got the union to support him, and was then signed off sick for stress for 6 months … he was fired in the end, and the union reps (all dudes) apologised for just taking him at his word.
TBH I’m just glad he’s gone, morale has shot through the roof and we’re crushing it now :-)
I have a trainee in my team, he’s reasonably good at his job, but he has a habit of explaining things to me that I explained to him in the last month.
Still, better than the guy who I had to show even basic tasks 3 times. Who when he didn’t do it right, and didn’t ask for help, blamed me … despite his signature being on the records.
Same vibe as “chewing on a cigar”
I got some for working in the garden, and every time I stood up straight they pushed my undies down a bit … there’s a time and a place for everything, but that wasn’t a good combination
Multiple health and safety violations going on there, it’s just a lawsuit waiting to happen!
I just dig it for the concept of planet Scotland.
Urf, thanks for the heads up, I’ll chuck that idea in the bin then
As someone who lives on the Iberian peninsular, I would have been interested to see it!
Me and my wife both spent our formative years moving around a lot, and we’ve both lived in different countries too.
Home isn’t a meaningful concept for us outside of where each other are at this particular moment.
Thank you for introducing me (an old crumbly RATM enjoyer) to this :-)
Only if you need them to outrun RFK Jr, or live in that one particular place with all the homicides … these two things may be related.
Amphetamines in the water supply.
Next question.
Fair enough!
Prey, the sequel to Predator. Prey is a really good feminist and anti-colonial film, well worth watching if you haven’t seen it :-)
It’s a sequel to a movie whose lasting legacy is a meme of a macho handshake.
Well done, you got it! How about a harder one? (Hint: much more recent)
Nobody listens to a woman and then everyone dies, apart from the woman. And her dog.
After I replied it occurred to me that the timeline wasn’t right for that, lol
As someone who has never seen Casablanca, it was nice to get one, lol
That’s really good for only the second time of shooting!
Another poster suggested dry firing, which is good practice that can be done away from the range and helps handling the gun become second nature (better with a snap cap so you also practice handling bullets and mags too, IMO). I’d also suggest checking out Tacticool Girlfriend’s YouTube video about countering flinching, which is a natural reaction and can cause grouping to drop (it happens to me really badly with full load 45ACP)
