I don’t get the hate either. It’s a perfectly cromulent show. It innovates within a franchise, while paying homage for its predecessors, without derailing into fan service/derivative nostalgia porn. That’s a hard thing to accomplish.

And I see the critiques and while they’re valid, they’re mostly “this show isn’t a masterpiece”, which yes. But fucking Virgin River got renewed for a sixth season, it makes no sense to not renew this one.
