About 30% of the population has narcissistic, authoritarian sentiments at any given time. So for such a person to come to power, they only need to suppress the opposition below a plurality of 30%.

It doesn’t mention it in the article but the administration cancelled her visa without notifying her 5 days before she was arrested. This is part of the reasoning they were using to detain her. Is her visa re-instated? If not, then she is now illegal and has been effectively deported, nonetheless.
