For me a Pomodoro timer works well. 25 minute task, 10 minute break, repeat. But to be honest I did spend the day playing dwarf fortress till 16:00, then rushing the task I had alloted the entire day for in 90 minutes.

Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•Found this while clearing out my old room
3·3 months agoTrue, but at the time we only had one PC so we didn’t really care about remote desktop, file shares and user groups etc. I was mostly busy playing GTA back then.
This is one of those dishes that never ceases to amaze me. Such a simple recipe, but very flavourful. The version with chicken is even better IMHO.

2·3 months agoI’m self employed and bought a T480 last year for work. Still runs like a dream with pop os, only downside is that it started complaining about the third party battery I bought.
Dockstarter with jellyfin + sonarr + radarr + qbittorrent + swag is your friend. I actually found jellyfin easier to setup. Don’t have to worry to much that streams are getting transcoded. Setting swag up was some effort though.
My in-laws always use a half scoop per cup, no thank you. Cardboard flavoured water.
To be fair though I’m spoiled with single origin, roasted to order beans
My guess would be: reliving your first time high, newer games will not live up to the nostalgia.
True, when I plan well enough it’s glorious: shower the night before, CG shampoo bar + stay in conditioner and I can just run my fingers trough my hair to style it the day after
When I shower before an event it’s a very thin line between too frizzy or too greasy and flat.
I’m taking the slow release methylphenidate, the barrier to actually start a task gets lower and I don’t feel as drained after a day of work. Downside is it makes me somewhat more irritable, but ymmv.

Arguably it’s not a movie but a show, but for WOT the show was much more enjoyable
Ackchyually, grass is almost always a mixture of different species (ryegrass, fescue and bluegrass) and therefore not a monoculture.
A lawn has its uses in parks, for example to have a Picknick. If you trow in some clover, daisies and ribwort, don’t spray and patches are left to grow to provide shelter it’s not that bad for biodiversity, depending on the climate of course.

Yes I know, I meant air/water heat pumps which heat/cool the mass of a building instead of the air. AC units are oversized more often than not and are not that efficient at modulating. I think it’s safe to say that it’s more efficient to turn it of when you leave for more than an hour or two
That is old advice. AC works pretty fast, especially in a small hotel room. If you have floor heating/cooling and a heat pump then it would make sense to leave it on all day.
Yeah I miss some of these folk

Yep that’s me. To be honest I only know one trans woman, but I knew her since she was like 14 and she’s only transitioned a few years back. I sometimes accidentally used her old name or gender which was met with anger, leaving the room and slamming the door most of the time.
She’s doing better now the transition is over, but I mainly stick with silence or safe topics now. I definitely don’t talk about the past anymore because that is like walking through a minefield.

Only thing I would be scared of is ethidium bromide on your food, but that probably wouldn’t be measured on a kg scale.
