  • Other industry participants, who were not authorised to comment because of their work advising the government, said the scheme had created significant waste.

They pointed out that most households were only using about 10 kilowatt hours of power overnight and would struggle to fill a system with five times as much storage.

    what are they talking about…

the average solar system is now 10kw’s, I have 6.6kw and can do 35kw in a day, on top of that what happens if you have multiple days of low sunlight? or in winter when you want the sun that does come through to last as long as possible…

you want oversized batteries, they last longer as there’s less wear on them and the utility they offer (self-consumption) is increased, on top of this you get an added benefit where you can join a VPP and export your excess unneeded energy at night helping reduce your bills, like with Globird, Flowpower, AGL, Origin battery plans etc

One critic said: “You end up with a lot of batteries that will never fill up, just sitting there empty forever, paid for by the Australian taxpayer.”

The average solar system (10kw) can easily fill up a 50kw battery on a sunny day.

Why didn’t the ABC take 5 seconds to ask someone with a big battery what their usage is like? Cmon ABC you’re better than this

  • They predicted it and were trying to set expectations 6 months ago:

eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant said work to implement the laws was on track but people should not expect that all under-16s would be scrubbed from social media as soon as the ban was in place.

    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-06-24/esafety-commissioner-tempers-expectations-social-media-ban/105454838

“This legislation does not give us a mandate to cut the Coral Cable or deplatform social media apps on stores,” she told the National Press Club in Canberra on Tuesday.

“Nor should we create expectations that every child’s social media account will magically disappear overnight.”

In her address, she characterised the controversial laws as a social media “delay” rather than an outright ban, despite its blanket application for all Australians under the age of 16 — even if they already own an account or have parental consent.

  • This is what the so-called “kill zone” near Pokrovsk looks like from the enemy’s perspective (source). The anti-tank ditch is packed with the bodies of Russian stormtroopers.

Neither Solyovyov nor Skabeeva would ever show this—their narrative is all about “surgical advances across the entire frontline with minimal sanitary losses.”

    A real mass grave.

Worth noting: the corpses haven’t been cleared, enemy vehicles don’t drive there, and another assault group marches in under fog when Ukrainian drones can’t monitor.

I’m not going to link directly to the video as I don’t want to get banned but there’s been a few videos now of what Russians are seeing in Pokrovsk and it ain’t pretty that’s for sure, this is the channel but it’s mainly ukrainian news so you’ll have to scroll up a bit:
