It’s not a sin, so there’s really no reason not to leave them in the middle of a parking space. Plus it creates more work for those lazy store workers who are always getting in my way while I’m shopping. /s

Do you have a source for the joggers bit?
No where did I say that, you obtuse troll.
No where does it say that consumers should be required to do these things. Just that if the only end of life possibility for a product is the land fill, then we should restrict it’s manufacturing. Obviously there would need to be exceptions for things like medical needs or accessibility accomodations.

A company who already packs their product in plastic is going to have a much easier time switching to something like this than changing their whole packing line out for box packing machines.

ExtraPartsLeft@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Scientists in Japan develop plastic that dissolves in seawater within hoursEnglish29·4 months agoI think some of y’all are missing a lot of packaging use cases other than food. But even in the food sector, there are dry things like pasta, beans, and rice that don’t have salt in them. If it really is as strong as a petroleum plastic for these items, it could eliminate tons of micro plastic.
I’m not a geologist, but I think the planes that typically fly upside down, are significantly lighter than 400 tons.
I wouldn’t say it’s famously flat, but it’s pretty flat and definitely not in the mountains. It’s next to lake Michigan, which is one of the “Great Lakes”.
ExtraPartsLeft@lemmy.worldto TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name@lemmy.world•Is replicated food vegan?3·5 months agoIt depends on why someone is a dietarily vegan. If someone is such because they need to avoid something in animal products, like cholesterol, or an allergen. Impossible meat would be fine. If they are “whole foods, plant based” then they probably aren’t going to eat an impossible burger unless they don’t have better options. There’s a whole spectrum of reasons people go vegan, and most of the ones I know have a combination of moral, health, and environmental reasons.
