Hmm, while the topic is important, the petition may not be so much. OP certainly left some questionable comments as shown through their moderation history and they seem to easily overreact which got them banned for spamming this petition on the fediverse. Dessalines and Nutomic, the creators of Lemmy, are known to have some problematic political stances and it is nice to see that this is not forgotten. Hopefully we’ll see some more discourse about this in the next few days on the fediverse but I don’t see a point in signing this for now :P
That is a great write up! Well written and explained! But … was the clickbait title and picture necessary? x3
I love the little walking animation, that’s so creative! :3
So cute! I love Suzamuri art :3
hmm, for art I usually save art with the artist name and an ID as the filename. If I’m feeling really fancy I create an excel sheet with tags, artist name and original source for each stored image in the folder.
I planned to eventually write a program to easily manage these databases for me and to poll for new art from FA/bsky/etc. but lack of time and enthusiasm got to me :P
Not entirely unavailable at source :P
furaffinity src (publicly available)
xcancel src (publicly available)
bsky src (sign in only)
You can also always find sources at or link to e6 :3
Also: poor Eevee x3
There is actually a c/test community here on pawb.social. Never used it though :P

I hope you’re alright after that physical attack! Hope someone educated the kid on their autism and their actions too. I think I slightly understand the train of thought with the “it’s not an animal” argument though. I’m guessing the kid assumed that the word gold was reserved for actual gold unless talking about animals like the golden hamster or goldfish where it just meant gold colored :P
Edit: also sorry for sending this comment thrice, no idea how that happened

Maybe, I really couldn’t tell that. To me this was a story about someone’s autistic brother who had multiple mental breakdowns with rampaging construction sites and injuring other classmates. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I wouldn’t expect many people to know about concretes dangerous environmental impact through released CO2 during production and it is not mentioned in the post either.
This post kinda feels like op is ridiculing autism with a probably made up story. Hyperfixation is a thing with autists but they don’t only talk about one topic and they shut up from time to time too. Autists are more than their hyperfixations, they’re humans.
Percentile gang, let’s go! 😎
The median, or 50th percentile, here would be 17 or 18, meaning 50% of the princesses are aged 17 or lower, and 50% are aged 18 or higher.
yeah, I had the same problem. Probably because I’m connecting from Europe.
Here’s a link from the Internet archive where you can read the article.
I’ve seen this posted before, so it’s definitely been discussed on Lemmy before. Reading the comments back then is much like reading the comments here, Clippy does not really seem fit as a corporation fighting symbol and frankly changing your pfp will most likely have no impact to Youtubes management. Why not simply go for a Reddit blackout kind of protest where everyone switches all their videos to unlisted or blocking monetization on their videos (if that is possible)? That will surely get the attention of Youtube.
Indeed, usually you would want to avoid a notation of sqrt(-1)
or (-1)^(1/2)
. You would use e^(1/2 log(-1))
instead because mathematicians have already decided on a “natural” way to define the logarithm of complex numbers. The problem here lies with choosing a branch of the logarithm as e^z = x
has infinitely many complex solutions z
. Mathematicians have already decided on a default branch of the logarithm you would usually use. This matters because depending on the branch you choose sqrt(-1)
either gives i
or -i
. A square-root is usually defined to only give the positive solution (if it had multiple values it wouldn’t fit the definition of a function anymore) but on the complex plane there isn’t really a “positive” direction. You would have to choose that first to make sure sqrt
is defined as a function and you do that via the logarithm branch.
So, just writing sqrt(-1)
leaves ambiguity as you could either define it to give i
or -i
but writing e^(1/2 log(-1))
then everyone would just assume you use the default logarithm branch and the solution is i
.
That art is so cute! Great story as well! :3
That’s really cool! I love the purple wings and the lighting on them! :3
That is such a good joke, props to you :P
