Frustrating.

The rate at which I absorb information is disgusting. Yes please finish your sentence I already have a response why are you taking so long. How did I learn that? I picked up the manual and did it. Developing new skills? Learning Rust right now and its going well, failed out of highschool because I learned too easily and didn’t need the homework to learn (so it didn’t get done).

It comes with imposter syndrome: I knew the problem, I had the pattern figured out, why did I still fuck everything up (plot twist I probably didn’t).

It comes with a superiority complex: I learned this in 10 minutes from looking at a Sci Journal, why has it been hours and yallvstill don’t get it? 🙄

It comes with accidentally hurting people: frequently I say things thinking something hould be obvious when it is not, while unintended, it often hurts my partner who is usually in the line of fire when I let some dumb shit outta my mouth and insult someone’s intelligence.

Anyway I hate it I’d rather be dumbsauce ignorance is bliss

They didn’t have that ability at the time, if your wii bricked (in my experience) its because you installed bootmii over boot2 and didn’t have a gamecube controller to control the device on that interface, leading you to believe it was a brick. I did that a few times back in the day.

It’s pretty horrific that the US prison industrial system benefits from imprisoned populations available to the used as slave labor enough that cities with higher homeless populations rather than doing literally anything to help choose to make things harder and more likely for a crime to occur such that homeless folks can be scooped up and dropped into the slave quarters prisons.

I’ve found that a lot of apps with touch gestures need Touchégg to work correctly, could be worth a shot to give it an install. I use a converted macbook, and for any gestures to work with the apple trackpad at all I have to have touchegg, my partner has it on her converted pixelbook go to make the trackpad not feel awful there too.

When I was a child I had my whole life planned out up til about 27 when everything got fuzzy looking forward.

Most of those plans were Derailed when I was 19, I had a meltdown in a situation where I lacked the support I needed to handle myself. Less than a month later I lived almost 2k Miles from my hometown.

Today, at 28, I have only the vaguest plans for my future, with no clear timelines.

I want to sell my art, I want SRS, I wanna marry my fiancé. Most of all though, and this is the big SUPER important one. I NEED to have a piece of art in the museum of Modern Art in my hometown specifically as a “fuck you I told you I could be an artist” to my mother.

I’m too dumb to set up Wayland on Nvidia and honestly don’t really care to. My laptop has an intel haswell-ult so it works with Wayland ootb and all the apps I use on it (literally just calibre, falkon, lapce and libreoffice Writer) work fine.

From my personal experience:

The steam variant of Retroarch is nerfed to hell and back, make your life easier and use the flatpak version and add it as a nonsteam game.

I use a 5TB array of old HDDs for my gaming rig set up with LVM for expandability and raid 0 style striping for speed.

The longest game for me to load is Risk of Rain 2 coming in at about 3 minutes from launch to main menu, even cp2077 only takes about 2 minutes from launch to “in game”.

The thing you’ll notice most is your drives will slow down significantly as you start to fill them up, it takes longer to read data from the outside of an HDD than the center.

The advice part: Git you a couple high rpm high capacity HDDs, set em up in raid 10, have fun!

The meme reads as “if you can’t do these things you’re dumb” the things you’ve typed as examples of how coding is done nowadays are similar to things that any beginner would be typing into a search engine as well.

Your meme doesn’t compare between coding practices, it compares between the results of early programmers doing the absolute most with the hardware that was purpose built for their needs to people who literally don’t know how to program looking up information and progressing their knowledge.

As a beginning programmer, this is extremely discouraging and makes me want to do something else with my time.

Instead of punching down at those who are clearly undertrained, you should elevate those around you. Being a dick about it doesn’t seem like a good use of your time.

A small correction: Jabberjays were the mutts used for surveillance and reconnaissance, mockingjays were what happened when Jabberjays interbred with wild Mockingbirds. Nature reclaiming its beast allowed for the districts use them as a tool for communication, an insult to the capital who was trying to strip power away from the districts, not give them more. This is why the Mockingjay became the symbol of the rebellion.

Buddy you don’t have to use the desktop, its there because the thing runs Linux and having it makes it easier for folks to install unapproved third party apps. It’s a handheld gaming PC. If you don’t want it to feel like a day at the office, don’t use desktop mode.

When I was learning my makeup a few years ago (transfemme, had never touched a makeup brush before 2022) I loaded up 4 TikTok instances on my PC and watched 4 tutorials at 2x speed at a time for about 2 hours.

I like to think that exposing myself to 16 hours worth of tutorials over a 2 hour period is why I can do my makeup as Well as I can today.
