I didn’t ask to be born in a country where burglars are likely to have firearms. But now that I am, I have to react to that fact myself.

It perpetuates itself. If someone thinks there is a significant probability a burglar might have a gun, getting a gun themselves can increase their chance of survival. This is even ignoring the actual culture around it, where people want guns “just to have them”.

I have one of these in my town. It’s a cell tower dead center in the middle of town, and they boxed it up in a building-like facade and put that glowing logo at the top. Massive eye of sauron vibes. It’s the tallest thing in the city. At night you can see it for miles.

I’m a fan of foldables, but only horizontal folds. Like the razr or Samsung flip. They’re so compact and I like using them without unfolding them.

Truth be told, if they just made a square phone like a foldable without an inside, I’d buy it in an instant.
