I know that it isn’t your sub. I was responding to you as if it is because you’re calling for more mod rights.

Fediverse is growing. We shouldn’t isolate communities from criticism in the name of growth. If I wanted that then I would be on Facebook or something where interactions are ultra pasteurized in the name of protecting the community. But in my opinion that just leads to low effort interactions and dumb DIY videos that go viral mostly ran by bots.

So you want to have your cake and eat it too is what it sounds like. To me it sounds like you want to have a minority friend but still be able to make racist comments. You may struggle to find that particular friendship.

The reason why is because federation and friendships are a two way street. It’s kind of silly to want to be part of a community that doesn’t even like your takes. It’s also silly to seek protection from devs so that you can share stuff that the majority of the community you want to be part of disagrees with. It’s like asking rabbi’s of a synagogue to help you spread Christianity. It just doesn’t make very much sense.

My opinion is to either rough it out until you may get more people to agree with you are just join a more like minded community like gab or truth social or something. Nothing wrong with that. Ultimately downvotes don’t mean anything so it’s not like your sub is getting ruined.

  • Money is is arguably the smallest common denominator of opportunities generally speaking. So in regards to things that make money…

    • if everyone is doing or talking about it then it probably won’t pay well.
    • if it’s easy then it probably won’t pay well The reverse of these points are also generally true.

If you can learn to be responsible with making, saving, and investing money then there is no reason you can’t do the same with other things in life like relationships or your personal meaning in life.

But here’s the bottom line, life is like an online video game. Hacks get patched. Relying on them is is silly and irresponsible. But disapline and sacrifice and understanding some basic concepts will get you really far. Speed running ain’t easy until you’ve invested hundreds of thousands of hours into the mechanics of the game.

  • I feel like that’s more of the state of how we communicate with eachother. Verbal communication is increasingly low effort and low quality just like any social media platforms I’ve been on. The only exception is hyper niche communities who’s main focus is on the actual INFORMATION. Ultimately, low importance/helpful post are going to have low importance/helpful responses.
