A special purpose group of the 8th Regiment of the Special Operations Forces conducted successful special actions in Kupyansk. During reconnaissance of the central part of the city, SSO operators detected a group of Russian military personnel. The occupiers held positions in a ruined supermarket and a house nearby.
As a result of direct actions:
- 2 enemy servicemen destroyed;
- 2 occupiers taken prisoner.
The SSO group’s work assisted adjacent units in liberating the central part of the city of Kupyansk.
Reconnaissance and direct actions in urban areas require high professionalism, which SSO operators continuously hone during CQB and CQC training.
