The tactics of the federal force, too, have grown more aggressive and indiscriminate. Armed officers have appeared at schools, daycares, churches and mosques. Masked agents are stopping residents at traffic lights, or on their walk to the grocery store, demanding – at gunpoint – that they prove their citizenship.
The agents are targeting not only undocumented immigrants, but also those with legal immigration status and valid visas, US citizens and tribal citizens. On Tuesday, a group of local law enforcement officers said even their agents were being pulled over, reporting that off-duty police officers of color had been stopped and questioned at gunpoint by the administration’s immigration force.
ICE is a terrorist organization. So is the Heritage Foundation.
Yawn. Gonna fight back or like hold a sign saying “not in my neighborhood,” while they ignore you entirely.

I’m not being glib here. I hear people chant for people to “fight back” and I honestly want to know what they think that looks like.
If protesting, filming, following them, warning others, blocking their entry into places, etc doesn’t count to you, what does?

If everyone willing to stand on a street corner was willing to step it up a notch, we’d have perhap millions of people following ICE around all day long preventing them from doing their job.

That’s exactly what the executive branch wants so they can use the insurrection act to enact martial law. Is that what you’re advocating for?

Yeah, I just said that’s their plan, to enact martial law. But if they were planning to do so with zero precedent, then why haven’t they done so already?
Trump tests the water to see what he can get away with. He says a big thing to make you panic, then pulls it back a bit so you think “well, at least it’s not the big thing.” And then later he inches it forward again. “I’m gonna take over Panama” (panic) “never mind…. Venezuela!” He’s boiling us slowly like lobsters. If he says it… It’s a plan, and he is already saying there shouldn’t be midterms. Testing the water.
He also can’t do it too far from the midterms and have it fail—because then there could be midterms.
But some form of Martial Law-like action is part of their “Project 2026” and my bet is October.
If the last year has been a slow boil, I’d love to see a fast one.
